Krabi Town, Ao Nang or Railay? What is the best place to stay?

We started our trip to Thailand with a 3 nights stay in Bangkok but, after it, it was time for us to explore the magnificent Thai beaches that filled our fantasy for years. We had doubts about choosing the base for our stay, but, our final choice was to do the trip from Bangkok to Krabi, instead of Phuket (you can know more about the reasons of our choice through this link).
Having made the booking of the plane trip to Krabi, we quickly found that the choice of where to stay would still lead to a new decision since the vast offer included hotels in Krabi Town, Ao Nang, as well as Railay. So, we started to search to get as much information as possible, we also talk to anyone who had already been there and now, after our return from Thailand, we would like to share the information and our opinion, in the hope that we can help you choose.
So, before we talked about our choice, we want to give some information about the three destinations referred to, namely Krabi Town, Ao Nang and Railay w…

Krabi (Ao Nang) or Phuket? What is the best destination for a family trip?

Our family trip to Thailand started in Bangkok, which we considered the perfect way to start your trip in Thailand (you can see our itinerary in Bangkok here) but, like the vast majority of people visiting Thailand, we also wanted to visit and get to know some of the most famous beaches in the world, especially the Phi Phi Islands and the world famous Maya May.

That being the case, and after studying the different possibilities a bit, we were left with the same doubt that many people stay when visiting this area of Thailand: where to make our base to explore the different beaches Phuket or Krabi (more specifically Ao Nang)?

Both options look great when you study both destinations and, that was a really difficult decision to make, as it probably will be for you. In this way, we hope that by talking about our decision and the reasons for our choice, help you make your decision to. Before we talk about our choice, let us just talk a little about both destinations.

Best Pad Thai in Bangkok - Thip Samai

During our trip to Bangkok (you can see here the itinerary of our family trip here) we were able to eat wonderful Thai food but, our last dinner was perhaps the best meal in Thailand. What's more, for an incredible price!
Therefore, we could not fail to bring you this tip, which can be very useful when you are traveling (or preparing your trip) to Thailand.
For those who don't know, Pad Thai is known as the national dish of Thailand and,, when you are traveling through Bangkok, you will receive dozens of invitations to enter different restaurants to eat Pad Thai.

In Thailand you can eat this delicacy i…

How to go from Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) to Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn)

As we had mentioned in the post on our first day in Bangkok (you can see our itinerary here to visit Bangkok on a family trip), we visited two of the most famous attractions of the city, namely Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) to Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn).
Although these attractions are very close, they are separated by the Chao Praya River, and for those who arrive there for the first time, this may not be an easy crossing.

However, with the right information, you will see that is quick and easy to go, and very fun for those who travel with children, because it is rare for a children to don't like to travel by boat.

Therefore, we would like to share our experience, in the hope of helping you to make this crossing quickly, for you to make the most of your time in Bangkok on your family trip.
Return After you get out of the Wat Pho Temple, to reach your new destination, you have to take a short walk to the Tha Tien Pier (Pier 8), (less than 200 meters distance).

You can see h…
